100 and something quite good films...

For some reason, probably drink, a director recently asked me to compile a list of what I think are 'must see films' this may also have something to do with FilmFour's recent 50 films to see before you die season. Anyway in case anyone cares, and I'm sure you don't, here they are:

To be fair I kinda rushed it coz I was freaking myself out with how geeky I was being! I think there are probably too many modern films and not enough foreign ones but hey... I also left off all the obvious things that one 'should' see but actually who gives a rats arse [ie The Cabinet Of Dr Calagari, Battleship Potempkin, Birth Of A Nation, Les Enfants du Paradis, Bout De Souffe, Throne Of Blood, Bicycle Thieves, Some Like It Hot, Stalker, La Dolce Vita, La Regle du Jeu, Sunrise, Un Chien Andalou, A Matter Of Life and Death, Rome Open City, Man with a Movie Camera, Last Year in Marienbad, Le Voyage dans la Luna, Nosferatu, Metropolis, The Great Dictator, Gone With The Wind, Scarface, The Roaring Twenties, King Kong, The Lodger, M, Citizen Kane, Rebel Without A Cause, On The Waterfront, Fantasia, Midnight Cowboy, Brazil, Mon Oncle, Wild Strawberries, The Wrath of God, Bonnie and Clyde,] Though I do really like a few of those movies.

I could’ve put any or all of the films by Nic Roeg, Paul Verhoeven, Tony Scott, Russ Meyer and Kevin Smith but I paired down. So…
